Investment in Character Presentations

Formerly Friends of Scouting

Character, values, and leadership don't just happen. The Scouting program is a blueprint for success. The blueprint offers a youth discovery and adventure that include teachable moments in which a child can develop skills and inner strengths. From Cub Scouts through Eagle Scout, the blueprint helps develop a better citizen with a stronger character than their non-scout peers. A child will develop into a leader with skills in cooperation, respect for himself, and others, and a firm foundation of ethical behavior. Scouting allows the youth to build on each experiential lesson to develop life skills and timeless values. These values will carry a Scout into the future and into the responsibility of adulthood. Please sign up your unit as a gift of thanks for all that the Denver Area Council has offered.

Timberline District Pinewood Derby

The Timberline District will be hosting the District Pinewood Derby on May 11th and 12th. This is a great opportunity for the youth to compete against other local scouts in a pinewood derby race. Please register your youth in the 2012 Timberline District Pinewood Derby.

Spring Membership Recuitment

Recruitment efforts take place throughout the year. Timberline District Scouting units conduct a coordinated effort to enroll new members to join Scouting in the spring. The Spring campaign focuses on recruiting boys that are K through 4th grades.

The Boy Scouts recruit 5th-11th grade young men and Venturing recruits 8th grade young men and women between ages 13-20.

These recruiting events are put on by Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops and Venturing Crews throughout the local community. Studies have shown that families/youth prefer to attend meetings at their school, and in their neighborhood. This will help ensure that every youth is invited to join Scouting.

Our main objective is to give multiple joining opportunities to ensure that every youth is invited to join Scouting and to fulfill our promise to new Scouts for a great Scouting program.
